In 1995, Dr. Quazi M Rahman, M.D. began his current medical practice in Long Island City, Queens, in the building adjacent to his more recent establishment, RQM Tutorial. Currently, Dr. Rahman is an attending physician at nearby Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens, N.Y., in addition to maintaining his daily medical practice. Although his expertise is medicine, Dr. Rahman has always held a deep respect for the hard work of teaching ever since 1978, when he taught anatomy courses at a homeopathic medical college in Bangladesh. Rokshana Quazi, spouse of Dr. Rahman, is the director of daily operations at RQM. With a M.S. degree in Economics, Rokshana began a career devoted to education while serving in a local elementary school, where she observed and collaborated professionally in day-to-day operations. Additionally, as the former administrative director of Dr. Rahman’s medical practice, Rokshana had countless conversations over the years with local citizens in the office who would often express a need for educational support in the community. Sayma Chowdhury is the manager of RQM Tutorial and has been part of the tutorial from the very beginning. She is a Macaulay Honors College alum from City College with a B.S. in biology and a minor in psychology. Her experience in her university's student government as vice president taught her how to handle varying situations with patience and endurance. Since working in RQM, she has been part of the success of numerous students who has been accepted to prestigious schools and programs, such as Prep for Prep and Talented and Gifted Program. As a Bronx Science Alum, she is proud to be part of the 100% acceptance rate of students into the Specialized High Schools. As a tutor, she is rewarded in seeing the achievements and accomplishments of the students in the tutorial. Being part of the tutorial gives her a sense of fulfillment and and pride in promoting students' scholastic achievement. In the future, she hopes RQM continues to help students succeed and reach their full potential.

Syeda Zahura, RQM Assistant Manager is currently doing her BA in Psychology at NYU and is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science. Her earlier experience as a private tutor brought out her love for teaching and interacting with children, helping them learn and grow as students. By working with students on a one-on-one basis, she can comprehend their shortcomings and address them proficiently. At RQM, not only does Syeda record and report the progress of each and every student to the President, but she also finds the time to work with children at the elementary level.

Nadira Choudhury, graduate of New York University, has a Masters from Cornell University. She is an entre- preneur and supervisor at RQM Tutorial since its open- ing in May 2011. She has contributed to building the foundation and curriculum at RQM. She was a mentor to multitudes of students who ranged in grade from kindergarten through undergraduate college courses in- cluding specialized exams such as Regents, SAT, Gifted & Talented Exam, and the SHSAT. She has trained new employees and tutors, as well. She not only worked as a head tutor, but also served as a role model to all of the students.

Mobasher Khan is currently an undergraduate at Princeton University. He is majoring in Financial Engineering and hopes to earn a certificate in Sustainable Energy. Mobasher attended the prestigious Bronx High School of Science, one of the top public high schools in the nation. Mobasher graduated in the top 5% of his graduating class of 750, and is one of the six students who now attend Princeton. Read on...

Farzana Haque graduated from State University of New York Stony Brook with a B.A. in Psychology and received her M.S. in Elementary Education from Touro College.  She is a New York State Certified teacher and licensed by New York City.  She has taught at the middle school level since 2004. She currently teaches 6th grade English Language Arts.  Farzana loves working with kids. She feeds off of the energy they display in the classroom and thoroughly enjoys seeing their zest for learning on a daily basis.

Arcenis Rojas is currently working toward a Master of Arts in Economics with plans to work in economic policy research. Currently, he is researching social and individual determinants of self-employment and is assisting with research on international trade policy. Arcenis grew up in New York City and attended a specialized high school having taken an early interest in mathematics and the social sciences. After high school he enrolled in Ithaca College and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and a membership in the International Honor Society for Economics. After completing his undergraduate studies he occupied roles in the fields of finance in both non-profit and for-profit organizations, social services, and government.

Mr. Dunlop obtained a degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Chemistry in 1987 with an overall GPA of 3.80 out of 4.00 and a GPA of 3.93 within his major. He successfully completing calculus classes up to Calculus 4. From 1988 to 2000, he worked as a civilian for the Air Force as a predictive cost analyst for large and small weapons systems which included negotiating with contractors on sole source acquisitions. Nagma ShahEducator

Nagma Shah tutors high school level Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. She is currently a graduate student in Mount Sinai's Master's for Biomedical Sciences Program where she is also conducting research on cancer biology. A double major in Biology and Health: Science, Society, Policy and minor in Chemistry, she graduated from Brandeis University with a High Honors Bachelor's of Science degree. Nagma especially loves to teach science because she believes that students should enjoy learning the subject, rather than be afraid of or intimidated by it as is often the case. Taking her passion for science and medicine, she hopes to pursue her goal of becoming a physician, maintaining aspects of research and teaching in her career as she continues forward. On her free time she enjoys reading, cooking/baking, and running.

Saboor graduated from the specialized high school, Queens High School for the Sciences, in 2011. He is currently studying at the New York University’s Polytechnic School of Engineering where he is in a dual Bachelor of Science and Master of Science program.  He is working on a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. In the spring of 2013, he was awarded the William J. Stolze Award, which is awarded to the top sophomore in the electrical engineering program. Nabil graduated from Herricks High School in New Hyde Park, New York. He is currently a senior at CUNY Brooklyn College enrolled in the Macaulay Honors Program. As an undergraduate student, Nabil pursued a BA degree in Film Production, in addition to completing pre-medical requirements, in hopes of expanding his understanding in the humanities and arts.

Nabil is a proud member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, an organization that seeks to add quality and character to every brother through academics and community service. He has been tutoring at CUNY Brooklyn College’s SEEK center, a department which focuses on furthering the education of underrepresented minorities, in college level Physics, Biology, and Chemistry since September 2013. Prior to his undergraduate studies at Tufts University, Tanzeel Ahmed excelled in mathematics and the sciences while playing a leading role on the varsity lacrosse team at Herricks High School since 10th grade. It was during this time that he began teaching younger students as a personal tutor for 2-3 students throughout his high school career. After graduating from high school, Tanzeel decided to pursue broader academic interests while expanding his scientific studies majoring in both Religious Studies and Biology. Cynthia Granja is the K-2 instructor at RQM. She specializes in teaching young children the fundamentals of English and mathematics. Cynthia connects with youth effortlessly, many of who cannot express their own insights proficiently, and empowers them to start their lifelong journey of education. Cynthia is passionate in her commitment to ensure that her students not only excel academically, but also socially, to improve their ability to succeed past elementary education. Cynthia keeps track of each child's progress, making sure that they are consistently improving, while adjusting each individual child's curriculum accordingly.

Mohammed Rahman is pursuing a major in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science, and a graduate of Stuyvesant High School. He believes that every child has the ability to become intellectual superstars, and that it is his job to assist these students to reach their fullest potential. By working with students personally, Mohammed is able to understand where exactly a student needs assistance in, and accordingly helps him or her understand the content at hand. Mohammed’s main objective is to see his students succeed in not only the classroom but life as well.
