Our fourth and fifth graders have an eclectic mix of ideas that fuels them through their long days in school, after school enrichment programs, homework, and playtime. For such little bodies, they possess an unreal amount of energy. Our job as educators is to harness this abundance of energy and put it towards activities that will help them grow as learners and individuals. At RQM, fourth and fifth graders work on hands-on science experiments, read-aloud sessions, interactive math worksheets, and much more. In addition, we strictly adhere to the New York State Common Core Standards to best prepare our students for their year-end statewide and citywide examinations. After the long examination(s), which extend over three days for multiple hours at a time, our students tell us that the exams were "a piece of cake"—a testament to our incredible ability to provide engaging and educational lessons.
